What Are The Chances For The 6th Curfew in India?

A few weeks ago, we discussed the topic of Lockdown 5.0 and how some of the implications were such a disaster for the country. India is racing up the list on the global scale for the most number of coronavirus cases and the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is thinking of another curfew, the 6th one, for the country.

Read More to learn about what Narendra Modi might say in his address and a little history on Mann Ki Baat, the radio show that the Prime Minister will be speaking in tomorrow.

What is Mann Ki Baat?

Tomorrow, the Prime Minister will address the Mann Ki Baat for the 66th time regarding the fight against the coronavirus. The Mann Ki Baat is a radio show where the Prime Minister comes forth to the public on the last Sunday of every month to address the current events in the country.

PM Narendra Modi first launched this program after he assumed office as Prime Minister for the 1st time in 2014 (he won re-election in 2019). He delivered his 1st speech for this program on All India Radio on October 3rd of 2014.

What Has The Prime Minister Addressed Before?

Narendra Modi has made 53 Mann Ki Baat performances until the 2019 parliamentary election. When the Prime Minister won as an incumbent, he re-launched the Mann Ki Baat program on June 30, 2019.

The Prime Minister will be addressing the issues about the coronavirus pandemic for the 4th time tomorrow. The last time he came on screen was on May 30th where he put forth many relaxations and temporarily lifted the curfew in many parts of the country—known as Unlock 1.0.

“Tune in tomorrow at 11 AM!” – Tweet by PM Narendra Modi

Stated On Times of India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Mann Ki Baat at 11 am, June 28th, as it is the last Sunday of the month. Narendra Modi will address the 12th Man Ki Baat tomorrow and complete a year cycle of this program after he re-launched his program during his 2nd term.

What Might The Prime Minister Address?

In today’s talk, Modi is expected to address the coronavirus (not surprising) and the new set of rules for the 6th curfew. It’s likely that he will address more information about this curfew and the list of restrictions that people need to follow. It is also reported that during the curfew, volunteers will speak in a manner that honors them.

As I stated in a blog a few weeks ago about how India is incapable of stopping the coronavirus, India has been starting to pile up in the number of cases which leads to a point where the country doesn’t have enough equipment to treat the patients. Therefore, I believe that the Prime Minister might also speak about the resources that the country has at the moment and how the medical industry will proceed in the future.

If you haven’t heard about the tragic news in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, a father and a son were killed in a miserable manner by the local police. I have decided to make a complete blog post on this topic in a few days. Anyway, I really hope that the Prime Minister enlightens this issue so that the entire country knows about the misuse of power by the Tamil Nadu police.

These are some of the things that I believe that the Prime Minister might cover on this monthly radio show he has been hosting for the past 5 years. If you think that there are some things I missed on this blog post or if you watch the radio show, feel free to comment your thoughts down below. Thanks a lot and I will meet you soon!!!

Peace Out!!!

  1. I heard about what happened to Jairaj and Fenix through Instagram. It is absolutely unacceptable and this should not be suppressed. George Floyd deserved justice and so does Jairaj and Fenix! Looking forward to your blog about the same:)
