When the coronavirus began to spread out of China, the Indian Government launched a one day curfew on March 22nd. Then, they quickly sprung into action where they proposed a 3-week curfew from March 24th to April 14th. The Janet Curfew, has been extended for the 3rd time where the curfew has been in place for a total of 49 days. Once the current extension of the curfew ends on May 18th, how would India behave to the current situation of the pandemic and take necessary actions in order to keep the country safe and running?
Although the Indian people have been stranded either inside their homes or in other states, the seriousness levels in the people is still quite low in order to control the spread of the virus. As the lockdown deadline comes to an end, the spread of the virus has intensified over the past few days. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference yesterday with all state chief ministers for bringing up a plan in order to run industries and the country as a whole after the May 18th lockdown.
Prime Minister Modi addressed the people of the country at 8 pm last night for the 5th consecutive day, with only five more days remaining before the lockdown ends. As the new phase of the lockdown is yet to come, the Prime Minister stated that the government will be offering an economic stimulus package worth 20 lakh crores.

In particular, the implementation of the national curfew in Phase 4 of the country will be completely different from the others. The curfew will be extended on the recommendation of the state governments where they may decide to extend the curfew on stage 4 depending upon the impact of the virus. He also stated that the new guidelines would be issued before the deadline ends on May 18th.
With the Prime Minister announcing that the curfew will be extended, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy from Chennai headquarters will be meeting with all the district administrations on video surveillance. At the meeting, coronavirus is expected to advise on curfews, the opening of bus services, permits for people to leave the district, and stores that have not yet opened. The meeting will be attended by Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, Health Minister Vijayabaskar, Chief Secretary Shanmugam, Health Secretary Beela Rajesh and DGP Tripathi.
